Knitting by Numbers I

These sculptures are knitted from wire using numerical sequences of various kinds. Some employ a Fibonacci sequence, others a series of prime numbers and a third group follow a pattern designed to produce a hyperbolic plane. This has created organic forms suggestive of marine life and alluding to the connection between mathematics, aesthetics and the natural world.
